With the old motors (ST1 V1 \/ V1.1) and integrated electronics, there were still many problems and failures due to overheating or water ingress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"70a75997-72b5-4004-adee-cd34a220300e\">Mit zunehmender Laufleistung k\u00f6nnen die Motorlager zum Problem werden. Ursache ist meist eingedrungenes Wasser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"25773096-ea54-45f9-83ee-b69ce4c89de2\">In rare cases, a Hall sensor or the thermistor fails. The three Hall sensors report the current motor position and speed to the Omni, and the thermistor reports the motor temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"25773096-ea54-45f9-83ee-b69ce4c89de2\">Faults can be detected by measuring the motor plug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"a02c2fe3-4012-43a9-842b-ac549005cda1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Components used<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"21c0d51b-2086-49ed-9d5e-cb33a5e8eec5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hall sensor:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ch.farnell.com\/honeywell\/ss461r\/hall-effect-sensor-bipolar-to\/dp\/1735770?gclid=CjwKCAjwr_CnBhA0EiwAci5sisX3NRnZ6f8VUCnrzSbM64CpQ2OAvS8nhSiSgpN5tgeS9xQMWzbAMhoCUqoQAvD_BwE&amp;mckv=srIAHPzwY_dc|pcrid|258630195517|kword|ss461r-|match|p|plid||slid||product||pgrid|52946900284|ptaid|kwd-1071934589943|&amp;CMP=KNC-GCH-GEN-SKU-MDC-German-Test-935-Max-Conversion-value\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Honeywell SS461R<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thermistor: NTC, 10 k\u03a9 (25 \u00b0C and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/telemeter.info\/media\/productattachments\/files\/t\/e\/temperatursensoren_telemeter-electronic.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Beta value<\/a>&nbsp;~3450 BC <strong>3950<\/strong>K)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"159ca729-f3b9-4299-b707-a3c1b5befa39\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Measure and repair Hall sensors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"eb77a8ad-2eb2-4b0e-a74b-2f26a55ce7bd\">Hall sensors can be tested with a multimeter. To do this, switch it to diode measurement mode. With the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.higocon.com\/motor-connector\/hg-fm-l1019a.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Higo L1019 motor plug<\/a>&nbsp;(used, for example, on the ST5 2021 ABS | ST5 2018 | ST3 2022 Pinion | ST3 2018 | ST2 2020 Belt | ST1 2021 LCI | ST1 2019), connect the red measuring tip to ground and use the black measuring tip to measure the reverse voltage of Hall: Green \/ Blue \/ Yellow. Ab ca. 135 \u00b0C wird zuerst eine gelbes Warndreieck im Omni angezeigt und die Unterst\u00fctzung merklich reduziert. Wird ein rotes Warndreieck angezeigt, und die Motortemperatur im Omni zeigt konstant \u00fcber 150 \u00b0C, liegt meist ein Problem mit dem Temperatursensor vor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stromer-tech.info\/en\/knowledge-base\/motor-overheats\/\" data-type=\"ht_kb\" data-id=\"1624\">See<\/a>&nbsp;auch hier im Kapitel: Motor &#8211;&nbsp;,<em>Motor \u00fcberhitzt&#8216;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"0736bb1b-957a-4ca9-8d3a-2691a1439322\">Den NTC-Thermistor kann man mit dem Multimeter im Widerstandsmodus ausmessen. Using a 10 k\u03a9 resistor, the Omni is tricked into believing that the NTC is working, thus achieving a motor temperature display of approx. 21 \u00b0C. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"b0b1f5ca-c2b4-4b34-bc65-812a8767cf42\">At the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.higocon.com\/motor-connector\/hg-fm-l1019a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Higo L1019 motor plug<\/a> At the top, disconnect the violet cable from the motor plug or socket. Solder an ohmic resistor of 10 k\u03a9 to the cable. Connect the other end of the resistance to earth (black).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\"><strong>NTC Beta Value<\/strong> An NTC resistor cannot be equated with an ohmic resistor. The so-called Beta value for an NTC describes the curve of the resistance drop as the temperature rises and is stored in the controller firmware. It guarantees a correct temperature measurement over the entire measuring range (up to 150 \u00b0C). A fixed resistor, on the other hand, has a (nearly) constant value that fixes a temperature value. <br><br><strong>The described \u201eworkaround\u201c bypasses the overheat motor protection.<\/strong> If the engine enters the danger zone of 135 \u2013 140 \u00b0C (ST3), the output will no longer be reduced and the inverter will not shut down at approximately 150 \u00b0C. Starting from <strong>120\u00b0C to 140\u00b0C<\/strong> demagnetization of the permanent magnets or melting of the Hall sensors. The resin insulation of the windings usually holds up to approximately. <strong>356 \u00b0F<\/strong>, but it ages faster and becomes more susceptible to cracks and, consequently, moisture or short circuits.<br><br><strong>FW SUI 4.5.0.3 - Update March 8, 2025<\/strong><br>Stromer writes: \u201eThe permitted engine temperature in Sport mode** has been increased slightly so that it can be used for longer.
