Since its introduction, however, it has suffered from a certain life of its own. This is mainly due to the Bluetooth technology used. It was not originally designed for precise distance measurement and is correspondingly inaccurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stromer kept trying to improve the function. However, the limitations of the BT version installed in the Omni set limits. Even moving the function to the Omni app or the Riding Display did not bring a breakthrough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die gute Nachricht ist &#8211; es gibt eine Alternative die sehr nahe an das interaktionsfreie Smartlock herankommt. Die Rede ist von NFC-Tags mit deren Hilfe, sowie dem &#8222;immer dabei&#8220; Smartphone, eine fast gleichwertige Funktion gelingt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I describe how I implemented the NFC variant in a separate tutorial.
