De zogenaamde TMM-sensor (<strong>T<\/strong>of <strong>M<\/strong>easurement <strong>M<\/strong>odule) meet de kracht waarmee de berijder trapt. Deze kracht veroorzaakt een trekkracht op de ketting. Deze trekkracht, het crankkoppel, wordt overgebracht naar de sensorplaat in het rechter uitvaleinde, waar het wordt omgezet in een mechanische horizontale beweging. Deze mechanische beweging beweegt een kleine magneet via een Hall-sensor. De spanningswaarde die op deze manier wordt gegenereerd, geeft aan de fietselektronica (Omni) door of en met welke kracht er wordt getrapt. Deze spanningswaarde wordt verwerkt in de Omni samen met de voorinstellingen voor ondersteuning (snelheidsniveau, koppelsensor) en doorgegeven aan de MCU (Motor Control Unit).
