Pulley(s) / belt(s) worn

Belt drives are often touted as low-maintenance and virtually wear-free. However, the often advertised threefold service life compared to the chain is only achieved if the belt is regularly maintained. If this is not the case, belts wear out or tear and the pulleys are not spared either.

ST3 Pinion - rear pulley after 26'000 km

With a 2mm Pulley gauge the wear of the pulley can be checked similar to a chain gauge. The tool is intended as a promotional tool for Gates and also functions as a bottle opener as well as a gauge :-).
