Pinion C-Line

Unfolding: derailleur vs Pinion

Comparison of the drives
The stromerforum.ch - Moderator @bluecat has a graphical comparison of the drives here published.

The diagram shows the gear ratios. The derailleur gear system is based on an 11-42T cassette, a 52T chainring and 27½" (26″) tires.

In this graph, the derailleur is compared with a cadence of 75 and the Pinion with a cadence of 60, so that the difference in gear development does not count.
Gearbox design calculator from Pinion
The Pinion gearbox calculator or a Pinion calculator helps you to select the ideal transmission setup. The internal ratio for each gear of all gearbox types is already defined. The entire range of a Pinion gearbox can be shifted to fast or slow with the secondary ratio to the rear wheel. By using sprockets or toothed belt pulleys of the same size, 1:1 tuning is also possible.
Cadence comparison chain / Pinion
If you want to know what the cadence is at vMax=45 km/h, here is a comparison of an ST3 with Derailleur gears and a Pinion C1.9.

Here you can see that the Pinion (Tf=62) requires around 10 revolutions/min less than the chain model (Tf=72).
