Power electronics defective (ST1 V1 / V1.1 - 36 V)

Motor damage in newer Stromer models is rather rare today. With the old 36 V motors (ST1 V1 / V1.1) with integrated power electronics, however, there were quite a few problems and failures due to overheating, sometimes also due to water damage.

The electronics (controller) of the first 36 V motors were not yet potted. To protect them from environmental influences, especially water, a sealant (gray) was later applied. Removal for repair purposes is difficult. One approach is to boil the controller in hot water so that the seal can be removed and the components can be accessed. Mechanical attempts are not recommended!

It may also be possible to repair the electronics.
