The stromeforum.ch user 'Martini Snowfox' shows in his Post the conversion of the Sturmey Archer 5-speed twist grip to the Rotary switch DLC50 from the same company. At the same time, the horn button was relocated to the right handlebar and additional inner bar ends 'SQ-Labs 411' and new 'Ergon GP1' Handles fitted.

Martini writes among other things:
It makes the bike sportier, prevents incorrect gear changes and significantly extends the service life of the gearbox! I had it fitted at 6,400 km and now I'm approaching 12,000 km and the problems have been reduced to 95%. This makes the bike more reliable.
With the C50, you simply put the pedal to the metal and, at the dead center of the pedals, you simply hit the next gear before stepping on the gas again. Over and over again, without having to think: "Am I in the right gear, is it in the right gear, what does the gear indicator say?" All that is no longer necessary. And then it also shifts forward wonderfully. I haven't ridden a Pinion yet, but I'll go out on a limb and say that the next gear can be engaged at least as quickly.
Only when downshifting do you have to use a little more force and it's not as quick - but that's OK in my opinion - you can shift 2 gears at once with one movement of the lever.
