Adapter from Stromer

In order to tow a trailer with the Stromer, you need the „Trailer Plate Kit“ as a coupling. When purchasing a new Stromer, this can be included Stromer Bike Configurator can be selected as an optional accessory. It is also available separately with a Stromer specialist dealer.

On the adapter plate, among other things,. Thule (ezHitch)Weber with electric clutch and Burley couplings mount. There is also, e.g. on the ST2, the solid shaft coupling / adapter with the dimension M10x1.

If you want to use a Croozer trailer, you can find out more about an adapter here look around.

In order not to jeopardize safety, I strongly advise against using them.

Assembly

The plate is usually fitted between the left dropout and the engine flange. Installation instructions are included with each plate. Professional installation is best carried out by the dealer.

Stromer writes in the operating instructions (ST1_ST2_ST3_ST5_ST7_de_3.0):

Please note that the handling of your Stromer E-Bike changes with a trailer. Some trailers tend to tip over in tight bends. Therefore, ride carefully and adapt your speed and riding style to the conditions. Some trailers are only approved by the manufacturers for use on bicycles or pedelecs (pedal assistance up to 25 km/h). Always follow the instructions of the respective manufacturer.

  1. The last photo with the "weehoo" is mine 😉
I would like to emphasize that with luggage or with a child on the back, I never go faster than the maximum 25 km per hour that the Weehoo prescribes.
The beauty of the seat tube mount is:
    – rear wheel trailer follows the line of the bike more nicely
    – When braking hard, the trailer does not push the rear wheel away. You can distribute the braking force well between the front and rear. If connected to the rear axle, it can cause your rear wheel to break out.
