Turn signal

Is the Stromer prepared for indicators?

Although some Stromer bikes appear to be prepared for the connection of indicators, Stromer has not yet (as of July 2025) implemented this on any model.

ST3 Pinion with EDS MC3 Controller

HG= Heated Grip (heated handle) / IndIndicator (blinker)

A few Stromer dealers offer blinker solutions. A DIY solution is also possible, but is not everyone's cup of tea due to the wiring problems.

Power supply?

In addition to the connection to the EDS MC3 controller shown here, there are also other options for connecting the blinker electrics. For possible solutions, see: 'USB connection external - wireless charging'

What is the legal situation?

CH: The indicators for electric bikes are permitted if they are permanently fitted and type-approved. S-pedelecs as a whole are subject to type approval, which is provided with the vehicle registration document. There is no separate CoC as in Germany.

Art. 179a para. 2 let. d and Art. 180 VTS (Overview [PDF])

Is the Stromer warranty affected by the installation?

The answer in the FAQ from Riesewijk is:

No. This question is understandable for us, as we are not allowed to interfere with the electrical system in any way. As we only use the Stromer's power supply, the impact on the system is very small.

Turn signals from Vietz

The Stromer ST7 driver 'Paul van Dreumel' writes in a Facebook post from January 10, 2024:

Picked up my ST7 today from Vietz in Herveld in Holland after the indicators were installed. As always, Vietz did a fantastic job. The turn signal switch was placed where the horn was and the horn switch was moved to the right side. The turn signals are very nice and neat. The entire operation took about four hours.
