Possible causes
Startet der Stromer nicht kann dies mehrere Ursachen haben.
Contact problems
- Battery contact(s) and/or in the battery compartment are dirty or corroded.
- The socket and plug are magnetic and attract the smallest metal particles, which can lead to short circuits.
- Pin of the battery base or connector in the battery compartment defective (power supply for the Omni or CAN bus connection).
The battery is dead
Schliesse das Ladegerät an und lade den Akku auf. Startet der Ladevorgang nicht, kontrolliere den Ladegerätestecker und die Ladebuchse im Stromer. Siehe gelbe Infobox unten. Funktioniert auch das nicht, versuche den Akku ausserhalb des Stromers zu laden. Funktioniert das, könnte ein Controllerfehler oder Defekt des Wicket Cable die Ursache sein.

Stromer startet
Startet der Stromer, schaltet aber nach dem Entfernen des Ladegeräts wieder aus, entnimm den Akku und kontrolliere Folgendes:
Clean the contacts/socket with a lint-free cloth or compressed air.
Verwende keine Kontaktsprays, Fette, die «Allzweckwaffe» WD-40-Multifunktions Smart-Straw oder mechanische Werkzeuge.
For corrosion on the socket or charging connector, use isopropyl alcohol and a fiberglass brush for cleaning.
Die Pins des Ladegerätsteckers und der Akkufachbuchse sind gefedert und können durch mechanische Werkzeuge leicht beschädigt werden. Ist ein Pin defekt, muss die Buchse oder der Stecker ersetzt werden.
For models with an electromagnetic battery lock, please note the following.
- With firmware 4.4.1.2 (03/09/2023), a new „EJECT“ symbol has been added to the charging screen (see below). Tapping it unlocks the battery, and the battery compartment can be opened using the eject button. If Smart Lock is active, the Omni-PIN will be requested beforehand.
If only „BATTERY CHARGING“ is displayed, an old firmware (< 4.4.1.2) is still installed. Tap the battery symbol „CHARGE STATUS.“ The prompt asking if the battery compartment should be opened should now appear. Stromer startet aber der Akku kann nicht entfernt werden
Startet der Stromer, der Akku kann aber bei Modellen mit elektromechanischer Öffnung nicht ausgeworfen werden, kann dies drei Gründe haben:
- Hört man kein mechanisches Klicken beim tippen auf EJECT bzw. JA, ist möglicherweise der Magnetschalter des Auswurfmechanismus (Frontbase) defekt oder die Kabelverbindung ist unterbrochen.
- If you hear the mechanical clicking when you press EJECT or YES, then press the EJECT button on the top tube on the right, and the battery does not eject, the spring or the ejection lever of the ejection mechanism (front base) may be broken.
- A third possibility is that the battery is stuck in the compartment due to loose battery compartment mounting screws. On some models, cable covers are also installed in the battery compartment. If such a cover becomes loose, it can block the battery in the compartment.

In allen Fällen kann man versuchen die Akkuklappe mechanisch zu öffnen. Dabei kann man einen dünnen Spachtel oder einen Schraubenzieher verwenden, mit welchem man zwischen der Akkufach-Gummidichtung und dem Unterrohr versucht, das Fach vorsichtig aufzuhebeln.
Der Stromer startet nicht
Startet der Stromer nicht, bleibt der Akku im Akkufach blockiert. Die Kontakte können nicht geprüft werden.
Der Stromer muss zum Händler gebracht, das Akkufach mechanisch geöffnet und die Kontakte überprüft werden (siehe Notöffnung und Tipp unten).
Special case ST7
The Stromer ST7 no longer has a mechanical eject button. To eject the battery, you need to press the EJECT symbol on the OMNI display. This will unlock the battery. To open the flap, you also need to pull the battery eject lever outwards.
Opening without battery and power?
How do you open the ST7 battery compartment when no battery is inserted, the battery compartment is closed, and the Stromer has no power? The solution is simple: the battery compartment cover does not engage when the battery compartment is empty, but remains unlocked and can be opened with your fingertips.

The same can be done when shutting down. First, open the battery compartment via EJECT, then shut down the Stromer. This ensures that the battery can be removed.
