Every now and then you read about problems with torn spokes on the rear wheel. The problem seems to occur sporadically and often in connection with strong impulse loads on the rear wheel caused by potholes, kerbs and the like. Excessive system weight or overloading the carrier can also be a cause.
Repair?
Die-cast aluminum cannot be welded with these thin walls. Heat dissipation problems during welding would also damage the electrical system in the motor. The motor must be replaced.
