ST7 does not transmit any data to the OMNI app

Problem

The problem was reported from Germany. There, the 3G network has been switched off but 2G is still running and serves as a fallback solution when 4G is not available. If this happens, the Stromer connects to the 2G network but no more data is transferred to the server and therefore the Omni app is no longer updated.

Workaround

The ST7 must be switched off and on again. Normally, a 4G connection is then established and the OMNI app is updated (trip statistics, GPS ...) after a short time. If the connection drops back to 2G, the game must be repeated.

Solution

Replacing the Omni brings No improvement. One possible reason could be the built-in SIM card or the provider used, which does not allow data transfer over 2G. Less likely is the small data bandwidth of 2G. Only a small amount of data is transmitted that can also be transferred via 2G. As of July 2025, there is no further information from myStromer AG and the problem is pending.

Update

The user 'Fuzzi' reports in Stromerforum.ch that the error may have been fixed with FW 4.4.3.4 from 7-02-2024.

In the newsletter dated Feb. 28, 2024, Stromer writes that the errors with the trip statistics that have persisted since summer 2023 will be rectified. However, this fault is not directly related to the 2G / 4G problem and the resulting lack of data communication of the ST7.
