Stromer uses front lighting from Suppernova on the high-end ST2S / ST5 / ST5 ABS / ST5 Pinion / ST7 models. The m99 Pro and m99 Pro2 models are used. The headlights are very reliable and rarely break down. With the m99 Pro model, however, it is important to ensure that the seal for the headlight ventilation is removed. Otherwise there is a risk of problems with condensation and corresponding defects.

In a high-performance headlamp such as the Supernova M99, the internal pressure fluctuates due to temperature differences. To compensate for this and still keep dirt and water away from the optical components, all Supernova M99 headlights are equipped with a breathable membrane, as used in modern car headlights. This membrane is self-regulating and balances pressure and humidity without allowing salt, soot particles or water to pass through. Nevertheless, small amounts of water vapor can get into the housing in high humidity. This then settles on the coldest part of the front glass when the wind blows. This is comparable to a slightly steamed-up mirror. This is clearly visible from the outside, but up to a droplet size of 0.5 mm in diameter it has no noticeable effect on the light image or the service life of the electronics. During production in Gundelfingen, the headlights are sealed for transportation. However, if a lot of moisture forms inside the lens, the seal can be removed to allow moisture to equalize, which can take a few days depending on the environment.
In 2017, Supernova issued a Leaflet on the subject in which "IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE FUNCTIONING OF THE BREATHABLE M99 MEMBRANE" are listed.
In the event of problems outside the Stromer warranty period, we recommend contacting Supernova directly. Supernova offers an extended warranty and writes on the Website:
"Our service promise: 5-year guarantee and at least 10 years of repairability for all lighting systems!"
It may therefore be worth contacting Supernova directly in the event of a defect if Stromer's warranty no longer applies.
