Sensors
More information about the „TMM sensor“ is available here.
Brake sensor
Each brake lever contains a reed switch (a switch that reacts to a magnet) which interrupts the assistance and activates the motor brake (recuperation) when the brake levers are actuated. Only then is the hydraulic brake activated, pressing the brake pads against the brake disc. These switches are often referred to as brake sensors, but this is not accurate in terms of their function.
The function designated by Stromer as "Brake Sensor" is a slider in the Omni or Omni app (see below) that controls the overall strength of recuperation when the brake levers are applied.
Furthermore, there is a division of the recuperation effect with regard to the left and right brake levers. The left lever acts with about 1/3, the right lever with about 2/3 of the set total effect. The ratio cannot be changed.
Update 1: With the Firmware update SUI FW 4.5.0.3 dated 05.03.2025, recuperation is additionally boosted when both brake levers are actuated. This allows recuperation to be controlled even better.
Update 2: With the Firmware update SUI FW 4.5.2.5 from 05/05/2026 allows the brake levers to now override the recuperation strength in recuperation or cruise control mode.
Inconsistent labels and menu navigation
Unfortunately, the labels and menu navigation in the Omni app and the Omni are not consistent.
Omni App
Under engine tuning (stage 2 – Ownthen it is called Torque (siehe Bild weiter unten)

OMNI (see Omni diagram)
- The brake sensor does not appear in OMNI under Sensors, as in the Omni App, but rather in the BIKE menu item and there under BRAKES > Brake
- Der Menüpunkt zur Kalibrierung Sensor and becomes when tapped drehm.sens.
- The pedal sensor in the OMNI app appears in OMNI under Sensor > torque.sens. – ‚Sensitivity‘
- Der Bremssensor in der OMNI-App erscheint im OMNI unter Menü > Bike > Bremsen – ‚Strength‘
Driving modes 1, 3, and S
Gear Level 2 – Engine Tuning
Stage 2 has in the OMNI app fünf Profile.

Speed
The achievable final speed can be adjusted under Speed. It is not shown numerically. If the slider is all the way to the right, this means that the maximum legally defined 45 km/h can be reached.
Torque
Agility
Agility refers to the sensitivity or response behavior / reaction time of the assistance. Greater agility means that the assistance kicks in more quickly as soon as you start pedaling.
I was told, by my local bike shop, that I need a pedal assist sensor for my Stromer electric bike, but they cannot get the part. How can I get one? They said they can install it, if I get it.
I live on Marco Island, Florida.
Hi Alan
Please see this chapter. A few online retailers are listed here, though none are in the U.S.
Another way to find a Stromer dealer is to use the dealer locator on the Stromer website.
https://www.stromerbike.com/en/dealer-finder
I know of a dealer in the U.S. who might also be able to help. Until Stromer left the U.S. market, they were a dedicated Stromer dealer: https://newwheel.net/
Siehe auch die Stromer FAQ mit Hinweisen für CA/USA Kunden.
Good luck!
