Omni and display types

Display V1 / V1.1

Before the first OMNI 2014 (monochrome) was launched, Stromer used an LCD display on the handlebars for ride management. The designation was V1 / V1.1.

More details: See under 'Display V1 / V1.1'

Omni's

In 2014, Stromer launched the ST2, the world's first fully connected e-bike, and has continued to develop connectivity ever since.

The display on the handlebars has been replaced by the Omni in the top tube. The cloud-based platform OMNI connect (from Latin omnis = everything) has since connected the Stromer to its own smartphone.

There are different versions of the Original Manufacturer Nsthork Interface.

Omni SW (2014-2017)

Diverse models from model years 2014-2017 have a monochrome Omni installed. It has no smart functions like Smartlock or Keyless, no live tracking, but it does have GPS. A switch to an Omni C is possible. An adapter cable kit is also required.Art. No. 401613can be ordered to establish the plug connections to the wiring harness in the Stromer.

Omni C (2014-2022) / (2022 to...)

The ST2, ST3, and ST5 model series were equipped with an Omni C with 2G/3G connectivity until approximately February 2022. The „C“ stands for Color. It is compatible with the Stromer Omni app and offers full connectivity via mobile network thanks to an integrated, free SIM card, as well as Bluetooth. The Stromer can be operated and located from anywhere via the app. You can lock or unlock it and retrieve various information – like ride statistics (including reset), battery charge level, battery and motor temperature, or location. Remote maintenance and diagnostics, as well as firmware updates, can be performed via Over The Air (OTA).

Omni C LTE-MThe Omni C LTE-M (4G) was introduced in March 2021 and is compatible with all models except ST1/V1, V1.1.

Omni C Low Profile: The ST7 was launched in the fall of 2022. It is equipped with a special Omni-C low-profile variant to fit into the revised top tube of the ST7. The technical specifications correspond to the Omni C LTE-M.

Omni B (2019-2021)

All ST1 models from 2019–2021 communicate via Omni-BT-App and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) directly with the Stromer. To use the app, the Stromer must always be within Bluetooth range of the smartphone. Subsequent activation of connectivity is not possible.

ST1 models from October 2021
(with Stromer Daylight) come standard with the Stromer Display Omni C (LCI OEM), but only offer basic connectivity via Bluetooth with the Stromer Omni-BT app. The integrated SIM card and full connectivity (GPS tracking, Smartlock, Crash Alert, and more) can be activated via the app for a one-time upgrade/activation fee. This fee is: CHF 390 | € 370 | $ 390 | DKR 2,753 | £ 333 (as of November 2024)

Stromer dedicates the Omni on its website a own category.

Repair?

  1. Good day, I was confirmed that during the shutdown of the G3 network, only some functions would be affected, that the battery charge would remain visible on the cell phone, as well as the mileage function. Unfortunately, this has not happened, and it is very inconvenient for me. Is it possible that Stromer itself did not know what was affected by the shutdown of the G3 network? I expect information from you to all Stromer riders who are now affected and a proposed solution.

    1. Hello Marianne

Who confirmed that to you, an electricity dealer? I have no connection to Stromer and can therefore only guess. If anything, your information meant the Omni BT. The following applies from my point of view:

Stromer with Omni C: Displaying battery level (SoC) and ride statistics in the Omni app is no longer possible after 3G is switched off. Why? The data is collected during the ride in the Omni and sent via 3G to the Stromer server (cloud), which in turn sends it to the smartphone. No 3G = no data transmission.

Stromer with Omni BT: Since communication is via Bluetooth, transmission to a smartphone is possible.

If you have an Omni C, is installing an Omni 4G in your Stromer the only solution to restore data exchange?.

      Greetings from Stromer
      Jurg
