E 210005 | CAN bus offline

Error

The error means that the CAN bus is offline - messages cannot be sent.

Cause

1. One or more components connected to the CAN bus have no connection to the CAN bus or are defective. Components connected to the CAN bus:
   
   • Omni
   • Controller (MCU)
   • Supernova M99 Pro Lighting (ST2S, ST5 and ST7*)
   • Distribution Board (ST5, old version 2018)
   • Blubrake ABS (for models with ABS)
   • Battery
     
     starting around November 2023 with the Supernova M99 Pro 2 and without a CAN bus
     
2. Poor contact between the battery socket and the Rosenberger connector in the battery compartment below, or the charging socket in the down tube above, e.g., due to dirt, metal particles, water, or corrosion

Solutions to:

1. Kontrolliere alle Steckverbindungen zu den Stromerkomponenten (Supernova, Controller etc.).
   Um eine defekte Komponente zu identifizieren kann man den SIT (System Integration Test bzw. Test Runner) im Servicemenü verwenden.

2. Reinige die Kontakte/Buchse mit einem fuselfreien Lappen bzw. Druckluft. Verwende keine Kontaktsprays, Fette, die «Allzweckwaffe» WD-40-Multifunktions Smart-Straw oder mechanische Werkzeuge.
   
   For corrosion on the socket or charging connector, use isopropyl alcohol and a fiberglass brush for cleaning.
   
   Die Pins des Ladegerätsteckers und der Akkufachbuchse sind gefedert und können durch mechanische Werkzeuge leicht beschädigt werden. Ist ein Pin defekt, muss die Buchse oder der Stecker ersetzt werden.

If all peripheral devices, cables and plug connections can be excluded, the omni remains as a source of error.
