E 21000E | Batterie aufgrund eines ungewöhnlichen Systemstatus gesperrt

Problem

While driving, an error message E 21000E appears in the Omni with the text:
„Battery locked due to an unusual system status. Please restart the vehicle. Contact your Stromer dealer if the fault persists.

Driving is no longer possible.

Cause

Scenario 1: The error message is declared as follows in the Stromer error flowchart: „Fire prevention: Output blocked [EBC].“ Specifically, the controller (MCU) is affected, and within it, one or more of the power semiconductors (MOSFETs) that control the hub motor.

Visually, the defect on the controller is clearly recognizable.

Scenario 2: If no defects can be identified on the controller, the problem may lie with the activated protective circuit of the battery. This protects the battery from potential problems (short circuits, etc.) in the electrical system.

Solution

Scenario 1: The error is unfixable. The controller must be replaced.

Scenario 2: Go inside Service menu Under BATTERY in the PROTECTION section, check if SUI EBus lock „knock“ and a switch appears behind it.

Thanks to Joachim from Leinebergland!

If so, slide this from right to left.

Please note the warning notice displayed accordingly. The switch should not be moved until it is clear what caused the potential problem. Check all cables and electrical components with the Sit. Candidates for problems include the Wicket Cable or the front lighting.

In the case reported by Joachim, the Wicket Cable, or SAE connector, on his ST2S was burnt out after 20,500 km. This was replaced with an XT60H-M type connector.
