The button ring is usually located at the left end of the handlebars. It controls the gear selection, the strength of the recuperation or the speed limit for cruise control as well as the headlights.
The error statistics for the button ring are unremarkable, i.e. there is little feedback regarding malfunctions.
In rare cases, one of the keys goes on strike, a total failure is somewhat more common.
However, the solution to this fault is usually not the button ring itself but a connection problem with the omni. The connecting cable runs - sometimes with an additional plug connection - through the stem to the omni and is connected to it there using a JST connector.
