Problem
The battery can only be charged outside the bike. The Stromer offers no assistance.

Cause
- EBUS Critical no battery power. CAN bus offline, CAN interface defective or short circuit on CAN (messages cannot be sent)
- Defect of a component (battery, controller, Omni, ABS, M99 Pro (ST2S / ST5) and charger, if connected)
- Contact problem in the 48 V on-board voltage (charger / battery / MCU...)
- Leakage currents, short circuits, connection problems due to moisture/corrosion at connectors (e.g., motor connector, Rosenberger connector)
Solution
- Defective charger or a failed firmware update for the charger. Swap out the charger as a test to rule it out.
- Test the power components with the SIT (Test Runner) - Components
- Clean contacts in the battery compartment to remove moisture, corrosion or metal chips
- Check the daytime running lights and headlights for moisture
- Allow the bike to dry after riding in the rain or washing and then check it again
- The cables in the stem and head tube lie close together. If the handlebars are turned sharply, it can lead to pinching or even a cable break and possibly a short circuit. Check for pinched or severed cables.
