E 210005 | Battery can only be charged outside the bike

Problem

The battery can only be charged outside the bike. The Stromer offers no assistance.

Cause

• EBUS Critical no battery power. CAN bus offline, CAN interface defective or short circuit on CAN (messages cannot be sent)
• Defect of a component (battery, controller, Omni, ABS, M99 Pro (ST2S / ST5) and charger, if connected)
• Contact problem in the 48 V on-board voltage (charger / battery / MCU...)
• Leakage currents, short circuits, connection problems due to moisture/corrosion in plug connections (e.g. motor plug, Rosnberger plug connection)

Solution

• Defective charger or charger has 'choked' during an update > Replace charger as a test
• Component defective: SIT (Test Runner) - Components test
• Clean contacts in the battery compartment to remove moisture, corrosion or metal chips
• Check the daytime running lights and headlights for moisture
• Allow the bike to dry after riding in the rain or washing and then check it again
• The cables in the stem and head tube are close together. Check for crushed or disconnected cables. The fault occurs from time to time when the handlebars are fully extended.
