E 210002 | Charging not possible, battery compartment blocked

Error E 210002 appears after every restart. The battery compartment is blocked, charging is not possible.

Causes

E 210002 indicates a communication problem on the CAN bus between the motor controller and the battery. The cause is often a contact problem at the charging port at the top of the down tube, the battery socket on the battery, or the Rosenberger connector in the battery compartment below.

Further causes could be a defect in the battery cable, the controller, or the battery. 

Contact problems often arise due to moisture. This can penetrate the down tube or bottom bracket area after a rain ride or washing with a hose/pressure washer, causing corrosion of the plug connections.

Solutions

1. Clean the contacts/socket with a lint-free cloth or compressed air.
   Verwende keine Kontaktsprays, Fette, die «Allzweckwaffe» WD-40-Multifunktions Smart-Straw oder mechanische Werkzeuge.
   
   For corrosion on the socket or charging connector, use isopropyl alcohol and a fiberglass brush for cleaning.
   
   Die Pins des Ladegerätsteckers und der Akkufachbuchse sind gefedert und können durch mechanische Werkzeuge leicht beschädigt werden. Ist ein Pin defekt, muss die Buchse oder der Stecker ersetzt werden.
2. Connect the charger to the Stromer. The OMNI display should now start and the battery should be able to be ejected via the EJECT symbol.
3. A workaround with older e-bikes with a mechanical battery lock is to remove the battery from the Stromer while it's running, and then reinsert it.
4. In case of possible moisture, it often helps to let the Stromer dry and then see if the fault is resolved.
5. Helfen die Punkte 1-4 nicht teste die Stromer Komponenten mit dem System Integration Test (SIT) um festzustellen ob alle Komonenten korrekt funktionieren.

Starting with firmware SUI FW 4.4.1.4 (03-09-2023), there is an EJECT symbol on the charging screen. Previously, you had to tap the charging status indicator. A menu would appear (image on the left), and the battery could be unlocked by tapping YES.
